Fair Stone Partners have committed
themselves to implement the Fair Stone
Standard in their registered factories within three years.
Afterwards, accredited auditors have to independently audit and
certify these factories. The audit is based on the Fair Stone Auditor's
Manual. Partners have to independently commission the
audit of their factories. The audit can be repeated after one
year in case of failure. The Fair Stone Team has no influence on
the results of the audit.
The first auditor's training took place in Germany in November
2011. Another training will take place in China in spring 2012.

Staphany Wong has been
promoting higher social standards on natural stone
industry, especially when importing from developing
countries into EU, since 2007. She has worked in China,
Hong Kong and Germany, as researcher and consultant at
various trade union organizations and NGOs. She knows
the Chinese labour legislations, occupational safety and
health issues, supply chain practices in and out. Staphany Wong speaks fluent
Mandarin, Cantonese, Chaozhouhua and English, as well as
intermediate German. She lives currently in Bonn,
Germany.
